20241018 Reason for Yes

you don't give a reason when you say Yes to a request. Then, why do you have to provide a reason when you say No?

To be fair, if somebody asks for a reason for a No, they have to give a reason for the Yes.

20240923 What is immigrant

what is an immigrant?

An immigrant is a person who contributes to the national revenue without spending it.

Normal citizens spend national revenue when they are small such as on education, and they contribute national revenue when they start to work after school. But an immigrant is not.

From the perspective of a nation, a local newborn is an investment. The nation invests in them and expects in return when they join the labour force. However, the nation loses if the newborn leaves the country.

However, for an immigrant, the story is totally via verse.

we don't know how we retrieve our memory, but when someone talks about a past event, we can recall it, the sound the picture, and the feeling as well. This is the use of the heart (心之用).

From the use of the heart, we know the essence of the heart (心之本). However, we never know how the essence of the heart looks like.

Remember, in ancient times, people don't know anything about the biology of the brain. They know there is a brain but how it works, and the function of different parts of the brain, they never know. The brain is like a black box, it cannot be described.

in Taoism, it mentions that the essence of Tao cannot be seen and heard, but we are so sure its present because we can see, and hear its use.

20240820 Why Japanese is so special

I feel that is why Japanese is so special.

Japanese do as they are without caring about how others think, or how the world change.

they keep their customs as it is, they celebrate the ways they are. At the same time, outsiders really like what they insist on their own ways of life.

- we need social to cure loneliness, when too much social we need solitude.

- what if, we are brought up by AI.

- we don't need human social interaction anymore

- we have tailor-made interaction

- then, we don't know how to interact with other people

- we don't know how to handle other people's emotions, perspectives, thinking, etc.

- we don't need EQ anymore

- we are self-centered

- I think maybe we interact with other people through AI, AI will become a bridge between humans.

20240815 Work for?

- I once heard that we work not for money/salary

- we work to accumulate our experience or sharpen our skills in one career/field

- once we become experts in the field, it is time to pick a company and job and salary

- So, we don't mind overtime and you don't mind salary, you don't mind working hard because these things are sharpening you to be a successful person in the future

- most people work for money/salary, and what about you?

- this perspective leads to another thing that most company/boss don't like

- where is the loyalty?

- btw, don't kidding. will the company be loyal to its hard-working staff?

- 一個國家的運作要錢，錢主要從税收而來。當然有些國家會炒股票，收罰款(無論合理與否)，做生意等等增加收入

- 稅收基本上是由 1. 個人税收 & 2. 公司税收

- 個人的稅收可以是薪俸稅, 銷售稅等

- 公司的稅收可以是利得稅, 關稅等

- 公司的税收是有趣的事情，公司會負責税務嗎？

- 公司會交税但負責的卻不是公司而是客戶個人，因為所有要交的稅都會計算在物價內。

- 所以, 可以說交稅的從來都是個人

- 當一個國家的個人入息税(直接稅)率低是可能嗎？

- 根據以上的理解, 除非國家很懂得搵錢, 否則, 個人直接稅低就表個人間接稅會很高

money.

in the old days, money could be exchanged for gold. People trust gold so they trust money as well, and gold is the basic unit of money.

Nowadays, money no longer be exchanged for gold. We still use money because we trust in the nations that issue money, e.g. the USA, and Japan. So, the basic unit of money is TRUST nowadays.

But, what about if we don't trust the nations any more?
